Everything on this page wants you dead. The stat cards above are the quick version: health, weapon, speed, what hurts it, every ability and phase, and where you meet it. The sections below explain how the fights work and what to bring.
New here? Read How abilities reach you first. It will save you more deaths than anything else on this page.
Survival basics#
- Carry bandages. Many creatures make you bleed, and one (the Watcher) makes you bleed every time you hit it.
- Carry something for radiation. Several creatures pump radiation into you on a timer.
- Eat and drink before a fight. The Plague Bearer and the World Breaker drain your food and water.
- Keep your distance from casters. Abilities only reach 15 m (10 m for The Heretic). Step back and most of a creature's kit stops.
- Bring the right damage. A creature that takes 150% from explosives dies far faster to a rocket than to a rifle.
- Watch for the warning. A big hit plays a turret's lock-on chirp and rings the spot with sparks first. Step out of the ring.
How to read a stat card#
| Term |
What it means |
| HP |
Its health. Every creature has the same health at any time of the week |
| Weapon |
What it fights with |
| Damage |
How hard its weapon hits, as a share of that weapon's normal damage. "40%" means its hatchet hits for 40% of what a hatchet normally does |
| Speed |
How fast it runs. Your sprint is about 5.5. Anything at 5.5 or more keeps up with you; anything slower can be outrun |
| Damage taken |
How much of your damage lands. 100% is normal. Below 100% it shrugs some off, above 100% it is weak to that type |
| Abilities |
What it does on a timer, while you are close |
| Phases |
What it does once it has lost a set share of its health |
Damage taken is split into five types: bullets, melee (slash, blunt and stab), explosives, fire and arrows.
Note: Blunt damage counts as both melee and explosive. A club or a mace against a creature with different melee and explosive numbers gets both applied.
How abilities reach you#
- An ability hits every player within 15 m of the creature (10 m for The Heretic) that it can see. Walls and terrain block it.
- Mends, calls for help and most other abilities only happen while someone is inside that range. Fight a caster from further out and most of its kit shuts down.
- Big hits warn you first. You hear a turret's lock-on chirp, and the spot under you is ringed with sparks. A beat later it lands, but only on players still inside the ring. Fire and spikes land on the marked spot whether you are there or not.
- Thrown grenades and Molotovs have their own range, written on each card.
- Lifesteal works at any range: the creature heals back a share of the damage it takes.
- Phases trigger at a share of health lost. "(can repeat)" means it fires again if the creature heals back above that line. A heal inside a repeating phase happens only once per life.
- Abilities never reach you in a safe zone.
Afflictions and effects#
| Effect |
What it does to you |
| Bleed |
Adds bleeding. You lose health until it stops or you bandage |
| Radiation |
Adds radiation poisoning |
| Shock |
Instant electric damage |
| Fireball |
A patch of fire at your feet for 12 seconds. Most also deal instant fire damage |
| Spikes |
Floor spikes appear under you for 20 seconds, plus instant stab damage |
| Freeze |
Drops your body temperature to freezing in an instant |
| Drain |
Takes calories and water |
| Knockdown |
Downs you on the spot. A teammate can pick you up |
| Shroud |
The creature hides in smoke for a few seconds. It cannot hit you while hidden, and it signals before its first swing out of the cloud |
| Mend |
The creature heals a flat amount of health |
| Concussion |
Blurs your vision in bursts |
| Z13 virus |
A lasting infection that hurts you every 18 to 20 seconds until it is cured. A Blight Serum cures it. If you die with it, you rise as a zombie 10 seconds later. See Health |
| Death blast |
It explodes when it dies. Damage is highest right next to it and falls to nothing at the edge |
Kill rewards and mastery#
- Kill rewards (the XP and coins on a card) go to the player who lands the killing blow. You also get your normal skill XP for the kill.
- Mastery: every kill of a creature type counts toward your mastery of it, and it carries over between wipes. Each tier adds 4% to your damage against that creature and takes 3% off the damage it does to you, up to tier 4 at 1,200 kills. Type
/codex to see yours. More on The Blight.

Night zombies have their own cards (filter Night zombies) and their own page: Night Zombies.
Blight enemies#
These are what break out of the hourly Blights: they arrive with the dome and keep coming in waves of three every 25 seconds while the Blight runs. Kill them inside a live Blight and they can drop Blight Fragments: a 35% chance of one from anything, 60% from one with 400 or more health, and two every time from one with 1,000 or more.
Ashen: Husk, Spitter, Hulk#
- Husk is the one you meet most. Its pistol is weak; the bleed it puts on everyone near it every 25 seconds is not. Bandage between waves.
- Spitter has only 200 health but irradiates you and throws Molotovs from up to 30 m. Kill it first.
- Hulk is armoured against almost everything, but melee hurts it three times as much as normal. It is slow, it heals twice as it weakens, and it heals back a little of every hit. Take it with a blade or a spear, or simply walk away from it.
Crimson: Wretch, Butcher, Marksman#
- Wretch shocks everyone near it every 25 seconds and throws flashbangs, up to six in a life. Turn away from the bang.
- Butcher hits half again as hard as your machete would and shrugs off a fifth of all damage, but it is the slowest thing in a Blight. Keep moving and shoot it.
- Marksman carries an L96 that only does 30% damage, from far away, and drops spikes under you when you get close. Close in behind cover.
Hollow: Watcher, Hollowed#
- Watcher makes you bleed every time you hit it, heals 60 health every 15 seconds and heals back a tenth of its damage. Burst it down, then bandage.
- Hollowed shrugs off half of all damage. As it weakens it calls a wolf, then a boar, then a bear. Clear the animals or they will take you while you focus it.
Sour: Bloater#
- Bloater irradiates everyone near it, fills the air with smoke, and one melee hit in four can give you the Z13 virus. When it dies it explodes for up to 100 damage. Never finish it up close.
The rest#
- Frozen Undead is fast (6, faster than your sprint), freezes you every 10 seconds and hides in smoke. Below three quarters of its health it attacks and moves half again as fast. You cannot run, so stand and fight.
- Pyromaniac carries a flame thrower, drops fire under you every 20 seconds, throws beancans, and throws two Molotovs each time it loses another fifth of its health. Fire only does 70% to it; bullets do full damage.
- Plague Bearer burns, irradiates and starves you, all every 15 seconds. Fire is its weakness (130%).
- Undead Titan calls two Blighted every 15 seconds while anyone is within 15 m. Fight it from further out.
- Reaper knocks down everyone within 15 m every 25 seconds and hides in smoke. Spread out so a teammate can pick you up. Arrows hurt it the most.
The Blighted#
The basic Blight soldier: a hazmat suit, a machete and 120 health. You only meet them when something calls them: the Undead Titan, the Brood Mother and the World Breaker all do. About one in five is Frenzied: it runs at 6.8, faster than your sprint. One that nobody kills wanders off after 15 minutes.
Hunters#
Stalker#
The Stalker comes for a player who has been gathering alone, unhurt, for about 8 minutes. You see Something out here has your scent., and it trails you about 35 m away for a minute before it strikes. It has 2,500 health and takes only 70% from everything. It hides in smoke every 10 seconds, drops spikes under you, throws F1 grenades and heals in every phase. If it is not killed it gives up after 8 minutes, and it cannot come for you again for 30.
Tip: When you see the warning, stop gathering and get your weapon out. It is coming either way.
Mimic#
The Mimic waits at monuments for a player who has been quiet there for about 8 minutes, then walks up looking like a player: it wears your own clothes and skins. It has 1,000 health and a machete, and no other tricks. It gives up after 6 minutes and cannot come for you again for 25.
Neither hunter comes while a patrol helicopter or a Bradley is within 180 m of you, and no more than three hunt at once on the server.
Mini bosses#
Robert the Builder and the Rider of the Apocalypse turn up on their own when the server has been busy. Each is announced in chat with a map marker 5 minutes before it arrives. How their meters fill is on The Blight. What they drop, and how luck changes it, is on Gear Luck.
Robert the Builder#
5,000 health and a mace. He shocks everyone within 15 m every 20 seconds and keeps throwing up wooden walls 3 m from himself, one every 6 seconds, up to seven at once. Each wall only lasts a few seconds. Explosives do 150% to him and everything else only 70%, so bring rockets, satchels or grenades.
Rider of the Apocalypse#
2,500 health, a double-barrel shotgun, and a horse he rides around the area. Get within 15 m and he freezes you every 5 seconds, shocks you and drops spikes under you. Wear warm clothes, or fight him from beyond 15 m.
Arena bosses#
Five bosses wait in the arena, bought with fragments at /buyboss. Prices, team rules and what happens in the ring are on Bosses & the Arena.
World Breaker#
The biggest thing on the island: 50,000 health. Its rifle only does 10% damage; the danger is everything it calls. While anyone is within 60 m it brings in a scientist Chinook every minute, a Bradley every 90 seconds and a patrol helicopter every 3 minutes. Close up it also bleeds, burns and starves you, heals 500 health every 6 seconds and calls two Blighted every 15 seconds. As it weakens it calls whole squads: four Hulks and four Spitters, then four Butchers and two Marksmen, then three Watchers and two Bloaters.
Tip: Kill the calls, not just the boss. A Bradley and a helicopter will win the fight for it if you ignore them.
The Heretic#
15,000 health and a hunting bow. Its abilities reach only 10 m, but while anyone is that close it heals 500 health every 5 seconds, irradiates and bleeds you. One arrow hit in four concusses you. From a quarter lost it drops fire under you; at half it throws an F1 and smoke and heals a fifth; at three quarters it calls four Spitters and two wolves. Stay further than 10 m away and bring bullets (110%), not arrows.
Warden#
12,520 health and a baseball bat. Up close it drops spikes, bleeds and shocks you, heals 250 health every 15 seconds, and one swing in four concusses you. From half health it keeps hiding in smoke: back off until it reappears. Fire does 130%: incendiary ammo and Molotovs.
Corrupted Juggernaut#
12,580 health and a machete. It throws a Molotov every 2 seconds at anyone 5 to 50 m away, calls three Reapers every 30 seconds while you are close, heals 500 health every 10 seconds, and one hit in four can give you the Z13 virus. At three quarters lost it throws a satchel. Explosives do 130%; everything else only 70%.
Brood Mother#
9,000 health and a longsword. While anyone is within 15 m she calls a polar bear every 20 seconds and a Blighted every 15. As she weakens she calls wolves, then boars, then chickens and two Hulks, healing a fifth each time. Melee does 130%, bullets only 70%. When she dies she explodes for up to 10 damage, so step back.
Night zombies#
Zombies come at night, in waves, for players at skill level 15 and above. Your gear decides how strong they are. Their classes (Harvester, Massacre, Pyro, Crusher and Boomer) are on the cards above, and the whole system is on Night Zombies.
Other things that will try to kill you#
- Z13 zombies. A player who dies with the Z13 virus rises as a zombie 10 seconds later, where they fell, carrying what was in their main inventory. Kill it to get the items back. Night zombies can pass the virus on too (6% per melee hit). See Health.
- Scientists guard monuments and arrive on Chinooks, and NPC raiders attack bases. See World Events and RaidMe.
- Animals roam the island, and Blight creatures call more.
