World events start on their own timers, all day, every day. Chat announces each one, and a marker appears on your map (press G). Nobody has to sign up. You just go there and fight.
This is a PvE server, so other players can't hurt you at an event. The only danger is the event itself. That makes events the fastest way to turn decent gear into great loot.
At a glance#
| Event | How often | Lasts | Where | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Random server contest | Every 1 to 2 hours with 2+ players online, and at set times | 15 minutes, after a 5-minute warning | Anywhere | Everyone, even fresh spawns |
| Sputnik | About every 2 hours | 1 hour | Open ground, random | Early to mid game |
| Pirate Ship | About every hour | 1 hour | At sea | Mid game, you need a boat |
| Armored Convoy | About every 90 minutes | 1 hour | Along the roads | Mid to late game |
| Armored Train | About every 2 hours | 1 hour | On the rail line | Mid to late game |
| Arc Drone | About every 2 hours | 1 hour | Launch Site | Late game, bring a group |
| Hourly Blight | Every hour | A 150-second fight, after a 5-minute warning | Chat names the grid | Everyone. See Blight Events |
Tip: Not sure where to start? A rough ladder: random contests, then Sputnik's small debris sites, the Small Train and the Easy Convoy. Next the Pirate Ship and the main Sputnik crash. Then Medium and Hard Convoys and the full Train. The Arc Drone and the Giant Train come last.
Rules every event shares#
- Chat and the map tell you everything. Each event announces itself, names the map grid, and puts a marker on your map.
- Get close to do damage. Most events ignore hits from far away. Sputnik and the Train: 100 m for guards, turrets and mines, 250 m for helicopters. Convoy: 50 to 120 m. Arc Drone: 175 m.
- No sniper towers. The Train and the Convoy ignore damage from a player standing on a foundation built more than 5 m above the ground.
- Clean-up. Once every crate is open, Sputnik debris, the Train and the Convoy vanish 5 minutes later. Loot fast.
- Your turrets can help. Turrets you own will shoot Train guards once they jump down, and Convoy guards while the Convoy is stopped.
Random server contests#
Short contests that anyone can win, even with a stone hatchet. The top 3 win coins, and every contest has a target: reach it and you win a prize too, even if you're playing alone.
- One starts on its own every 1 to 2 hours when at least 2 players are online. Staff can also set fixed times, and those run with anyone online.
- Chat warns you 5 minutes before. Then the contest runs for 15 minutes.
- A small box at the top right of your screen shows the contest, the time left, your score, your place and the target.
/contest boxhides it or shows it again. /contestopens the contest window: the board right now, every contest, and this wipe's results.
| Contest | How you score |
|---|---|
| Blight Hunt | Kill Blight enemies |
| Siphon Race | Siphon fragments from a Blight concentration (it only comes up while a Blight is out) |
| Animal Annihilation | Kill animals |
| Barrel Breakers | Break barrels, including oil barrels |
| Berry Blast | Pick wild berries |
| Bot Bash | Kill scientists and other bots |
| Crate Clash | Empty crates (each crate counts once) |
| Fishing Frenzy | Catch fish (a shark counts too) |
| Hemp Hunters | Pick wild hemp |
| Mushroom Madness | Pick wild mushrooms |
| Ore War | Mine ore nodes to the end (sulfur, metal and stone) |
| Resource Rumble | Gather sulfur ore, metal ore, high quality metal ore, stone, wood, cloth and leather |
| Roadsign Run | Break road signs |
| Tree Trimmers | Fell trees |
| Tunnel Tussle | Kill tunnel dwellers |
| Underwater War | Kill underwater lab scientists |
| Place | Reward |
|---|---|
| 1st | 750 Chimera Coins (CC) |
| 2nd | 400 CC |
| 3rd | 200 CC |
| Everyone who reaches the target | 50 Scrap |
- Places pay when 2 or more players scored. On your own you can still win the target's prize.
- A tie goes to whoever got there first.
- Offline when it ends, or no room in your inventory? Your prize waits. It arrives when you're back or have room, or press COLLECT in
/contest.
Boosts#
Sometimes a boost comes up instead of a contest. For 15 minutes everyone gathers 2 or 3 times as much of something: High Qual Brawl, Metal Mash, Resource Run, Stone Smash, Sulfur Spree or Wood Whirl. There is no winner, so just go gather.
Tip: Keep a hatchet, a pickaxe and a fishing rod on your belt. Then you can join any gathering contest the moment it starts.
Sputnik#
A satellite crashes out of orbit and breaks into debris sites across the island. Guards defend each site, and the main crash site holds a locked crate.
| How often | About every 2 hours |
| Lasts | 1 hour. Each debris site disappears 5 minutes after its crates are emptied |
| Guards | Cosmonauts: 200 HP, LR-300, medical syringes and F1 grenades |
| Difficulty | Small debris: easy. Main crash: medium, plus a guard helicopter |
What falls#
The server picks one version each time:
| Version | First 2 days after a wipe | After that | Sites you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sputnik | 30% | 37.5% | Main crash + Space Card debris |
| Spaceship | 30% | 37.5% | Main crash + Space Card debris + 1 small debris |
| Huge sputnik | 20% | 25% | Main crash + Space Card debris + 2 small debris |
| Fragment of the space station | 20% | Never | 3 small debris sites. No card and no main crash |
The three kinds of site#
| Map marker | What's there |
|---|---|
| Space debris | 2 or 3 Cosmonauts and 3 crates (military and elite) |
| (Space Card) Radioactive space debris | 6 Cosmonauts, 16 landmines and 3 crates. One crate always holds the SPACE CARD |
| Sputnik (main crash) | 8 Cosmonauts, 2 auto turrets, 24 landmines, 4 elite crates, a card reader, a locked crate and a guard helicopter (10,000 HP) |
How to run it#
- Go to the (Space Card) Radioactive space debris marker. Clear the Cosmonauts, watch your feet, and take the SPACE CARD from the crate. It's a green keycard with a special skin.
- Go to the Sputnik marker. Take out the two turrets first, then the Cosmonauts. The landmines are spread around the wreck.
- Swipe the SPACE CARD on the card reader next to the wreck. The locked crate opens for you. Like any keycard, it loses durability each time you swipe it.
- Loot the 4 elite crates and the locked crate.
Warning: Attacking the main crash site or swiping the card makes the whole site aggressive for 2 minutes. That's when the guard helicopter comes for you. Fight near cover, and bring enough ammo to shoot down 10,000 HP.
Tip: Solo? Clear the small debris sites and the Space Card site first. They're far safer, and the card is your ticket to the main crash.
Arc Drone (Launch Site)#
A giant drone takes over Launch Site with an army of Raiders. It's the hardest regular event on the island and one of the best sources of custom gear.
| How often | About every 2 hours |
| Lasts | 1 hour |
| Announcement | "An Arc Drone has taken control of the Launch Site!" |
| Boss | Arc Drone, 10,000 HP. A health bar shows at the top of your screen |
| Guards | 60 Raiders: 120 HP, M39 or LR-300, grenades and syringes |
| Difficulty | Hard. Bring a group |
While the event runs, the usual Launch Site Bradley and crew are cleared out. The Raiders take their place.
How the drone fights#
You can only hurt the drone from within 175 m. It hunts targets within 200 m.
| Drone health | What it does |
|---|---|
| Above 70% | Strafes you with machine guns and fires bursts of tank rockets |
| 70% to 35% | Machine guns plus napalm rockets. It strafes faster |
| Below 35% | Chat warns "The Arc Drone in a critical state!!!". Napalm plus homing rockets, strafing at full speed |
Event Owner: who gets the loot#
- The first player to deal 1,000 damage (to the drone or the Raiders) becomes the Event Owner.
- Only the Event Owner and their team or clan can loot the drone's crates and the Raiders' bodies.
- If the Event Owner leaves the event area for 10 minutes, they lose the title and the next player to qualify takes it.
Tip: Going as a group? Team up in-game before you arrive. Then the whole team shares the loot, whoever lands the 1,000 damage.
Loot#
When the drone dies it drops 5 to 10 crates inside a ring of fire. The fire keeps the crates locked until it burns out. Each crate rolls 3 or 4 items from a list that includes:
- Rockets (regular and high velocity), F1 grenades, satchel charges, rifle ammo (regular, HV, explosive and incendiary)
- High quality metal, gears, springs, pipes, tech trash, scrap, CCTV cameras, targeting computers
- Guns: bolt action rifle, AK, M39, pump shotgun, SPAS-12, M249, LR-300 and rocket launcher
- Custom gear: these sit at the bottom of the loot list, so each one turns up in only about 1 crate in 100. Across all the crates from one drone kill, your odds are:
| Item | Chance per drone kill |
|---|---|
| Bulwark Boots | About 8% |
| Skyguard Chest Plate | About 7% |
| Vanguard Hoodie | About 6% |
| Nature's Touch (revolver) | About 6% |
See Gear Sets for what these pieces do.
Armored Train#
A heavily defended train runs along the rail line. Stop it, clear its defences, then loot the wagons.
| How often | About every 2 hours |
| Lasts | 1 hour. Always above ground |
| Guards | Train guards: 200 HP, LR-300. The driver comes back to life if killed |
| Difficulty | Depends on the train (see below) |
Which train you get#
| Train | When it can appear | Defences |
|---|---|---|
| Small Train | Only in the first 2 days after a wipe | 5 guards, 4 auto turrets. Crates: 1 locked + 4 elite |
| Train | From 3 hours after a wipe | 5 guards, 8 auto turrets, 2 Bradleys (900 HP), 1 SAM site. Crates: 1 locked + 4 elite |
| Giant Train | From 10 hours after a wipe | 15 guards, 4 auto turrets, 4 Bradleys, 1 SAM site and a guard helicopter (10,000 HP). Crates: 2 locked + 3 elite |
How the mix changes through a wipe:
| Time since the wipe | Small Train | Train | Giant Train |
|---|---|---|---|
| First 3 hours | 100% | - | - |
| 3 to 10 hours | 50% | 50% | - |
| 10 hours to 2 days | 40% | 40% | 20% |
| After 2 days | - | About 67% | About 33% |
The train's Bradleys hit softer than a normal Bradley: they deal 30% of normal damage. SAM sites have 1,000 HP.
How to stop it#
The train itself can't be destroyed. Any of these stops it:
- Shoot any wagon or any of its defenders
- Kill the driver
- Pull the emergency brake on the locomotive
A stopped train stays put for 5 minutes. Every hit and every crate you open resets that timer, so a train you keep fighting stays stopped. When it stops, the guards jump down and fight on the ground.
The train leaves you alone until you attack it. After each hit it stays aggressive for 30 seconds.
How to loot it#
You can open the crates only when both of these are true:
- The train is stopped.
- Every guard, Bradley, turret and helicopter on it is dead.
The train disappears 5 minutes after the last crate is opened.
Tip: Stop the train on open, flat ground, not in a cutting or on a bridge. Then kill the turrets from the side before you step onto the tracks.
Pirate Ship (Tug Pirates)#
A pirate crew sails a tugboat around the coast. Boarding it is the hard part. Once you're aboard, the loot is quick.
| How often | About every hour |
| Lasts | 1 hour, then the pirates sail away |
| Announcement | "Pirate ship inbound", plus the grid it was spotted near |
| Map marker | Blue Pirate Ship |
| Crew | 12 Pirates with LR-300s (200 HP), 2 Pirates with MP5s (150 HP), and the Captain (100 HP, baseball bat) |
| Difficulty | Medium. Easier with friends |
How to run it#
- Get a boat and chase the marker. The tug won't stop when you shoot it, and the tug itself can't be damaged.
- Clear the deck from your boat, then board.
- Kill the Captain. He's steering, so the tug stops dead in the water. Chat warns that the ship will sink in 20 minutes.
- Loot the Captain's body. He carries a note with the door code.
- Open the code-locked door with that code. Hack the locked crate inside and loot the other boxes on board: a large wood box, a military crate and a basic crate.
- After the locked crate is looted, the ship sinks 5 minutes later. Get off in time.
Warning: You can't drive the tug, so keep your own boat close. If the ship sinks under you, you'll be swimming.
Note: The loot is strong for such a short fight. The price is the trip out and the boarding.
Armored Convoy#
An armed convoy drives a long route along the roads. Attack it and it stops to fight.
| How often | About every 90 minutes |
| Lasts | 1 hour |
| Difficulty | Easy to very hard, depending on the convoy |
| Convoy | Chance | What's in it |
|---|---|---|
| Easy Convoy | About 44% | 4 motorbikes (2 with sidecars) and a sedan. No tanks |
| Medium Convoy | About 33% | 2 sidecar bikes, 2 sedans, 2 armoured cars and 1 Bradley (600 HP) |
| Hard Convoy | About 22% | 2 sedans, 4 armoured cars (2 carry snipers), 2 Bradleys (600 HP), an armoured loot truck, a SAM truck and a guard helicopter (10,000 HP) |
| Nightmarish Convoy | Staff-started only | 4 SAM-carrying Bradleys (1,000 HP), turret and SAM trucks, and a 20,000 HP helicopter |
How it fights#
- Attack it and the whole convoy stops for 80 seconds. It stays aggressive while stopped.
- Explosives barely work on the guards. Damage taken from grenades, satchels, C4, rockets and 40mm grenades: 50%. On the Nightmarish Convoy: 10%. Bring guns.
- Stay close. You must be within 50 m (Easy) or 100 m (Medium and Hard) to hurt anything. The helicopter can only be hit from within 300 m while the convoy is stopped.
Loot#
- Crates ride on the vehicles. You can loot them at any time. You don't have to wait for the guards to die.
- Destroying a vehicle drops its loot on the ground, but half of it is lost. Kill the guards, not the cars.
- The Hard Convoy's loot truck has a locked door (250 HP).
- The convoy disappears 5 minutes after the last crate is opened.
Tip: Your own turrets will fire on Convoy guards while the Convoy is stopped. A turret on a roadside base is a real help.
The hourly Blight#
Every hour a Blight breaks out somewhere on the island, under a purple dome. Siphon the concentration in the middle and fight off the waves, and everyone who took part is paid in Blight Fragments. The full guide is on Blight Events.
Reinforced Oil Rig#
A harder, custom oil rig takes the place of the Small Oil Rig. On the current map it's the "Reinforced Oil Rig" label at grid D27, out at sea in the south-west.
- The normal rig scientists are replaced by a custom crew. That's 5 to 7 Oil Rig Workers (175 HP, hit hard) and 5 to 7 Older Oil Rig Workers (300 HP).
- Each Oil Rig Worker you kill pays 50 CC.
- Each worker comes back an hour after it dies, so you can run the rig again later.
Tip: Bring medical syringes and armour. The workers hit harder than normal scientists, and you'll be fighting up ladders and stairs.
Events with their own pages#
- Blight Events: the hourly Blight
- Bosses & the Arena: boss fights you buy with fragments, the mini bosses and the hunters
- Night Zombies: the waves that come after dark
- Heli: helicopter fights you call in yourself
- Dungeons: tiered dungeon runs
- Raidable Bases: NPC bases you raid for loot
- RaidMe: defend your own base from NPC waves
- Minigames: Honey Drop
- Exploration: Alcatraz, the Nuclear Submarine and the rest of the custom map
Quick tips#
- Check chat after you log in. Most events announce the map grid, so you can head straight there.
- Carry medical syringes and bandages to every event. Almost every guard here carries grenades.
- Loot first, sort later. Sputnik, the Train and the Convoy vanish 5 minutes after the last crate opens.
- Sell spare event loot to other players. See Economy.
