Blight Light is a heavily modded PvE Rust server. Players cannot hurt each other or raid each other's bases. The danger comes from the world: the hourly Blights and their creatures, bosses, night zombies and tough NPCs.
There is no single "correct" way to play. You can fight, farm, build industry, trade, explore or chase events, and each of these can pay for the others. Scrap from your farm can buy event keys. Loot from a boss can be sold to someone who would rather craft. That cross-over is on purpose, so you always have a reason to try something new.

The rules#
- Respect other players.
- Maximum team size is 6. Do not switch teams to dodge event cooldowns.
- No cheating or exploiting.
- PvP only happens inside PvP events. Everywhere else the server blocks player damage.
- Do not steal from player bases, vehicles, backpacks, furnaces or other storage.
- Do not build in a way that stops other players from enjoying server content.
- Do not exploit AI pathing or terrain glitches.
- No spam, excessive advertising or disruptive behaviour.
- When in doubt, ask an admin before you do it.
Breaking the rules can lead to a warning, a temporary ban or removal from the server.
PvE: what you can and cannot damage#
| You can | You cannot |
|---|---|
| Kill NPCs, animals, zombies and every Blight creature | Hurt other players (outside PvP events) |
| Damage your own and your teammates' buildings | Damage other players' buildings (twig is the only exception) |
| Damage your own vehicles and boats | Damage other players' vehicles and boats |
NPCs and animals can hurt you, and radiation is on. Other players' corpses and dropped loot are protected: if you try to loot them, a message tells you they are not yours.
Tip: Start a vehicle's engine to claim it. Once claimed, other players cannot damage it. See Vehicles.
Gathering rates#
Hitting trees, ore nodes and animal corpses starts at vanilla speed (1x). From there, three things push it up:
| What | Effect |
|---|---|
| Night time | Your skills double wood, ore, skinning and plant yields while it is dark |
| ZLevels | Every level in Mining, Woodcutting or Skinning adds +0.2x to that yield. Level 10 is 2.8x, level 50 is 10.8x |
| Your skill level and skills | Every level adds yield bonuses on its own, and several skills add more. See Progression |
Ground pickups (collectibles)#
Pickups on the ground give about double what vanilla Rust gives, before any skill bonus:
| Pickup | You get |
|---|---|
| Stone pile | 100 Stones |
| Metal pile | 100 Metal Ore |
| Sulfur pile | 75 Sulfur Ore |
| Wood pile | 100 Wood |
| Hemp | 20 Cloth and a Hemp Seed |
| Corn, potato, pumpkin, berries | 2 of the crop and a seed |
| Mushrooms | 2 Mushrooms |
Plant pickups also have a small chance to give a Worm or a Grub for fishing.
Your skills then multiply the pickup. Stone, metal and sulfur piles use your Mining level. Wood piles, hemp, crops, berries and mushrooms use your Acquire level, which starts at 3x. So on day one a wood pile gives you 300 Wood and a hemp plant gives you 60 Cloth.
Tip: Pick up everything you walk past early in the wipe. Acquire is the fastest way to fill your first base with wood and cloth.
Full details on levels and XP are on Progression. Where the best loot is found is on Loot.
Stack sizes#
Stacks are much bigger than vanilla, so you spend less time juggling inventory.

Wipes#
The monthly wipe#
The map and all blueprints wipe on the first Thursday of every month at 12:00 PM MST.
| Resets every month | Kept through the monthly wipe |
|---|---|
| The map, your base, everything you built | Chimera Coins (CC) |
| All loot and deployed items | Your VIP rank and its remaining time |
| Blueprints | Your skill level and XP (your spent points are handed back) |
| Your role (pick a new one each wipe) | ZLevels, weapon levels, cooking and fishing |
| Quest progress and the Blight Pass | Enemy mastery |
| Leaderboard stats | Your vault, and the days of the Blight Pass daily reward |
| Your backpack and everything in it |
Blueprints wipe every month on purpose: Scrap is much easier to earn here than in vanilla, so relearning is quick.
Note: The welcome screen lists "ZLevel and Skill Tree: resets" for the monthly wipe. In practice the wipe keeps your levels and only hands back your skill points. A bigger reset, if there is one, is announced in Discord first.
The full table for every progress track is on Progression.
Note: The welcome screen says leaderboard stats stay through a wipe, but the leaderboard itself is set to clear at every map wipe. Treat each wipe as a fresh race. See Achievements & Leaderboard.
What never wipes#
- Chimera Coins (CC). The server's currency. They are never removed. See Economy.
- Your vault and its slots. You earn more slots from the monthly line's Close the Month quest. See Economy.
